Bluetooth Troubleshooting

Experiencing Bluetooth trouble? Check the basics before anything else!

  • Ensure your hearing aids have sufficient battery/charge — low power is a top culprit for dropped connections or failed pairing.

  • Confirm Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the hearing aids are powered on.

  • Stay within close range (ideally 3–10 feet, with a clear line of sight) — Bluetooth range is limited in hearing aids compared to regular headphones. Your body can block the signal, so try moving the phone closer or repositioning it (e.g., not in a back pocket).

  • Ensure your phone’s software is up to date

Steps to reset Bluetooth connectivity if your hearing aid is not connecting to the phone

  1. Restart the phone (power your phone off for 30 seconds then power it back on) if this doesn’t work move to step 2

  2. Restart the hearing aids (you can do this by plugging the hearing aids into the charger for 10 seconds then removing them) if this doesn’t work, move to step 3

  3. Forget device and re-pair (go into your bluetooth or accessibility settings select your hearing aids and forget this device) in order to re-pair them afterward you will need to restart your hearing aids so repeat step 2 to put the hearing aids into pairing mode then ensure your bluetooth is on and searching for available devices. (If you have an iPhone and ReSound or Signia hearing aids you will pair them in “Accessibility” instead of your standard bluetooth settings)

  4. Pairing fails or won't connect — Ensure no other devices are interfering (e.g., too many Bluetooth connections active). Place the aids near/on top of the phone during initial pairing for a stronger signal.

To enhance the Bluetooth experience, we recommend disabling system sounds from the phone
